كثر المواصل في الهوى ماهو بزين
A lot of communication in love is not always good
Kthr al moasal fel hawa maho b-zain
ودك بخلك بين مده… ومــده
You want your companion from time to time
Wdek b khelk bain mudah wa mudah
لان البني آدم ما ترك طبعه الشين
For the child of Adam (human being) never left his bad nature
Lna el bani Adam ma tarak tab’ah al shain
لاحب له شي وشبع منه… هـده
If he loves something & feels full of it (in the context of eating food)… Leaves it
La habla shay weh shba’ minh hadah
لكن لا منه جاك من حين لي حين
But when he comes to you occasionally (from time to time)
Lakin la minh jak min heen leh heen
قدرت جياته وقدرت صــده
You appreciate his coming & appreciate his avoidance
Qadart ji'atuh wa qadart saddah

وان قلت ابيك وقال ماهوب ذه الحين
And if you say "I want you," & he says "not now"
Win glt abeek wgal mahob dalheen
لا تبلي شي يمكن ظروفه تحده
Don't assume the worst; perhaps circumstances are limiting him
La tably shay, ymkn drofah t’hidah
اصبر عليه ايام … وشهور … وسنين
Wait for him days… & months… & years
Isbr alaih ayam… w’sh’hoor… w’sneen
ان كانه يودك… وكانك توده
If he loves you… And if you love him
En kanah ywedk w’kank twdah
خلك … لا منه اعطاك … ماتطلبه دين
Your companion (intimate)… When he gives you… You don’t ask for a loan
Khilik… La minh a’tak… Ma tatlbah dain
ماجاك منه أخذه… ومـا رد… رده
Accept what comes to you from him… & what returns… Return
Majak minh ekh’tha… W’marad… Ridah
ولاتسوي مثل ناس المساكين
& don’t act like the poor souls
Wlaa tasawi mithl nas al msakeen
اصلك وفصلك بالهوى لاتعده
Your origin & your lineage… With love, don’t mention it!
Aslik wa faslik bel hawa la ta’idah
الحب مايعرف… قبيله ولادين
Love does not recognize tribe or religion
Alhob ma ya'rif qabeelah wala deen
نكس حكومات(ن) وكسر اشده
It has overthrown governments & broke the strongest of people
Nakas hokomatn wa kasar ashidah
جاوه عقال(ن)… وراحوا مجانين
They came to it wise… & left mad (crazy)
Jawoh ogalin… Waraho mejaneen
وكم واحد(ن) خاضه… ولاهو بقده
& many participated in it (battle context)… & were not up to the task
Wkam wahedin khadah wala ho bgadah

يقوله اللي جاحد(ن) علّته لين
Says the one who makes his problems seem simple
Ygolah elly jahidn eletah lain
بارت محافيره وبيّح بسدّه
His digging is futile, and he's reached a dam (dead end)
Barat maha ferah wa bayah bsadah
هذا كلامي وانت بتشوف بعدين
These are my words, & you will see later
Hatha kalamy wint batshof badain
والله وانت ميّز بين مزحه… وجده
& you distinguish between the jokes & the seriousness
Wallah went mayiz bain mazha… Wjidah
