Dominated on the finest beauty and collected it
Haymin ala arqa aljamal w’lamah
And gathered the cultures of mankind in his crown
W’jama thaqafat elbeshar fe tajah
Peak upon peak, and his taste is supreme
Qimmah ala qimmah w’thoogah qimmah
Taste and beauty and an allure that shines
Thoog w’jamal w’gheratin wahaja

A kohl-lined eye, and in his lashes, a mark
Tarfin k’heel w’fe romoshah simah
And the oud (incense) blows upon his crown and his silk
W’alood ysfy tajah w’deebajah
And a waist like a “kasra,” followed by a “thama”
W’khasrin mithl kasra waraha thama
And a “fat’ha” on the edge of “skoon” facing (Arabic marks, see below)
W’fat’ha ala had elskoon itwajah

I care about what concerns him… and my concerns are his
Ehtam mn hamah… W’hamy hamah
And the course of my heart… Its path is his way
W’mnhaaj galby… Minhja minhajaah
His blood is on my blood, and my blood is his
W’damah ala damy… W’damy damah
He is the medicine (cure,) and I am the doctor of healing
Ohwa aldwa… W’na tabeeb i’ilajah

I have no debts, and no needs to ask for
Thimah wla le hajatin mhtaja
But you have something my heart embraced
Laken lik shayin fwady damah
O one who rules my heart with a fence around it
Yamin ala galby hikam b’syajah

O lord, the conceited one of beauty and its glory
Ya seed maghroor aljamal w’amah
O crown of beauty, increase your radiance
Ya taj ras alhisn zeed ehraja
Say “done,” My life… and my complete what I say
Gil tam… Ya omry… W’goly timah
O intoxication of the aching heart and its separation
Ya nashwat al galb elshjy w’fragah
