This reel of with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid reciting his poetry made me pause.
There’s a pattern I’ve been noticing, and maybe you’ve noticed it too: when something deeply ours—our poetry, our traditional dress, our rituals—is paired with something European or Western, it’s suddenly seen as more elegant, more elevated. More… valuable?
I invite you to reflect:
“Does Valore (value) come from within—or from association?”
Personal Reflection
Cultures are meant to meet, to learn from one another, to blend and inspire. That, too, is a kind of beauty. But I wonder—can we blend cultures in a way that allows them to truly resonate across communities? Doesn't honoring heritage mean understanding its essence rather than merely replicating it? Isn’t it the values, not just the symbols, that truly connect people and make cultures seem more “elevated”?
